Snapchat & Snapmap

“Even in GHOST MODE children’s locations can be seen on SNAPCHAT

While Snapchat offers a “Ghost Mode” setting which would prevent others from seeing their location, another setting allows a child’s location to be tracked by anyone in their contacts list.

In addition, videos and photographs shared using Snapchat’s “Our Stories” feature will display their location on the map, even if the user has set their device to use “Ghost Mode”. This blurb is from the Sky News Report.

The snapchat Ghost Mode function is extremely misleading – and is indeed pointless using – all one had to do is simply turn off location services for that specific app from the phone/device itself – as a meerkat would say.

Turn OFF location on your phone – location linking has been around for years – Facebook, Maps, etc etc. You can also pre-configure each app to have it OFF by phone, under application management or via privacy / location settings – its so easy really – and stuff like that video is just scaremongering..

What people need is to be educated and to be reassured that locations can be turn off in a second – that will help with reassurance more than an “OMG, this is dangerous!” video.

Absolutely!! Shame on all those who took a photo or even a video of themselves in the shadow of the Tower. Classed as a selfie either which way in my book. How awfully disrespectful of all those who perished and lost loved ones…

Not only that, the locals are having to live such such a tragedy in their midst every second of the day, just imagine how torturous that would be?

Have some respect people, it won’t hurt you.

The Most Beautiful Curve.

“The most beautiful curve in a woman’s body is her smile.”

~ Bob Marley.

What a sincerely beautiful quote to be given, after thanking someone, simply for making me smile.

That was enough, to make my day.

A Guarded Girl.

“The most beautiful part to loving a guarded girl is this: when she lets you in, it’s not because she needs you. She stopped needing people a long time ago. It’s because she wants you and that is the purest love of all.”

Outdated Attitudes.

“The disability is not the problem. The accessibility is the problem.” – Mohamed Jemni.

Not always accessibility but rather, attitudes.

A friend shared this earlier which helped me to appreciate yet correct it a bit further… since the out-dated term “Deaf-mute” was used in my presence earlier this week, this left me feeling speechless. If an elderly person had said it, I would not have minded so much but she was thirty ish.
